Snooze pineapple upside down pancakes3/18/2023 ![]() ![]() First, and most important, the food was fabulous. And, I'm happy to say, were absolutely thrilled. All in all, I'd give Snooze a "thumbs-up" and would eat there again the next time I'm in Denver.Īfter reading the favorable reviews on this site, my family stopped for breakfast at Snooze during our trip to Denver this weekend. Snooze is located in a "transitional" neighborhood, but at no time were we concerned about our security. The clientele is an interesting mix of locals (business people and Bohemians) and tourists. The atmosphere is fun, with interesting wall graphics and two-toned seats (reminded me a '56 Chevy!). At no time did we feel rushed, even though we lingered over several cups of coffee. The place began to get busy around 11:15, as other late-breakfasters arrived. My only objection was that the Salmon Benedict was not still hot by the time I got to sample it. We both agreed that the food was very good. My wife and I shared plates, so we could both sample each other's choices. I even skipped the syrup, just to enjoy the flavor of the various batters. ![]() I can't recall which I had, but all were delicious - very light and fluffy. I ordered a "flight" of pancakes - a choice of three from the menu of five types, plus a daily special. My wife ordered smoked Salmon Benedict, which featured a nice slice of salmon, tomato, red onion and a poached egg covered in Hollandaise sauce on an English mufffin. The coffee was hot and strong, just the way we like it. The waitress offered several helpful suggestions, but did not rush us as we made our selection. (Based on what I've read, the weekends at Snooze can be very crowded and hectic, so try to eat there mid-week.) The menu was very interesting, and as a cook myself, I found the descriptions to be quite appealing. There was no line, and we were quickly shown to our table by the hostess. (don't forget to bring change for the meters!). We arrived around 10:30 and a found a metered parking spot right on Larimer St. My wife and I were on business in Denver in late-October, and based on the many reviews I've read - both here and on - we decided to have a late mid-week breakfast at Snooze. ![]()
